The Pacific Islands Tax Administrators Association (PITAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Petero Maivucevuce as its new Head of Secretariat, effective immediately. This significant leadership transition was confirmed by the PITAA Executive Committee for a three-year term.
Mr. Maivucevuce steps into this role with more than a decade of experience in the fields of taxation, international relations, training, and policy development. His long-standing commitment to PITAA, spanning over nine years, has seen him contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s growth, develop strong networks with regional and international stakeholders, and support tax administrations across member jurisdictions.
Known for his deep understanding of PITAA’s institutional framework and regional tax priorities, Petero is well-positioned to guide the Secretariat in its mission to build capacity and promote collaboration among Pacific Island tax administrations. His appointment signals a renewed focus on continuity, regional engagement, and strategic progress.
Petero holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration at the University of the South Pacific. His academic background and practical expertise are expected to bring valuable insight into the evolving needs of PITAA and its member countries.
The PITAA Executive Committee also extended its heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Udit Singh, who served as Interim Head of Secretariat during the transitional period. His steady leadership ensured the Secretariat maintained momentum on key work programmes and priorities.
As PITAA looks ahead to another year of regional cooperation and development, we congratulate Mr. Maivucevuce on his appointment and warmly welcome him into this pivotal role.
