We are approaching Session 9 of our Leadership Series which is a follow up of our last session on Performance Standards. In this upcoming webinar we will focus on the importance of People and Performance Management and the basics of how to assess people’s performance.
People management can be defined by a set of practices that include the end-to-end processes of appointing staff, optimizing their use and retaining them whilst providing continuous support and guidance to ensure they grow and mature in their positions. Other aspects include compensation, performance management, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation and engagement, communication and training etc.
As with any organization, good tax administration performance rests with its staff, their capabilities and skills, as well as the ability of the leadership to motivate staff to do their best in achieving organizational objectives.
In addition, a performance management system provides the means by which the performance of managers and staff can be evaluated fairly and objectively. It considers different tasks and responsibilities and the difficulties in achieving them. It also enables every employee to be provided with a clear understanding of what needs to be achieved and the standards of performance required and serves a valuable tool to, for example:
