Session 5 PITAA/PFTAC Leading and Managing Revenue Administration in Difficult Economic Times Regional Series

May 4, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Today, successful leaders of revenue administrations face many leadership and management challenges.  These include balancing the delivery of government priorities, a sharp focus on results, and setting the direction for the organization.

Leaders are expected to create an environment where people are engaged, performing to the best of their abilities, and lead with integrity and courage.  As well leaders in revenue administration need a system-wide perspective, connecting and influencing across government and with stakeholders to optimize revenue.  In addition to these priorities, the impact of COVID-19 on revenue collection now also requires leaders to respond to this ‘never experienced before ‘challenge, in new ways.

The intent of this seminar series is to provide a platform to discuss leadership and topical management issues, and risks, utilizing the wide range of knowledge, experience and learning of our current senior leaders in the Pacific.

The approach is a series of seven short sharp practical sessions of one and a half hours each, delivered over seven months, to fit in with senior leaders’ busy schedules.  These will be facilitated by PFTAC and PITAA.

The success of the seminar series depends on senior leaders supporting this initiative, which also provides an excellent forum for discussion and networking.  For some senior leaders these seminars will be a refresher, for others, an opportunity to learn something new. All Senior Leaders are therefore encouraged to participate and share their knowledge, experience and ideas on Revenue administration leadership and management challenges and solutions, so that all Pacific Island Countries may benefit.
