02 of 2021: Managing Tax Debt & Improving Filing Compliance Regional Webinar

April 19, 2021 @ 11:00 am - April 23, 2021 @ 3:00 pm

Revenue Administrations (RAs) have recently been challenged by the effects of COVID-19 which is impacting on their ability to maintain the management of debt and filing of returns in challenging circumstances. This workshop will build from the December 2019 workshop on this topic and consider issues experienced in implementing the developed action plans.

Good practice in the management of tax debt and outstanding returns in the current environment will be discussed. Key features of the training include preventing a tax debt, maximizing collections through early and continuous engagement, effective and timely enforcement, realistic debt and returns recovery and how to improve the overall functionality of debt and returns management areas.  Experiences will be shared in how the various country economic stimulus initiatives have assisted or impacted the administration’s ability in their debt management and return filing performance.

This is a joint initiative with the Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Center (PFTAC) and the Pacific Islands Tax Administrators Association (PITAA).

Target Audience: The workshop is designed for tax debt and returns managers and senior officials working in these areas. Where possible it would be useful to include at least one previous attendee from the previous December 2019 workshop on this topic.
