The Pacific Islands Tax Administrators Association (PITAA) is pleased to announce Mr. Petero Maivucevuce’s recent participation in the Train-the-Trainer (Refresher) Course, held from 14–16 April 2025 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and his upcoming involvement in the 11th Pacific Manager Development Program (PMDP), scheduled for 14–25 July 2025 in Nadi, Fiji.
Organised by the Papua New Guinea Internal Revenue Commission (PNG IRC), in collaboration with PITAA and the Oceania Customs Organisation (OCO) Secretariat, the PMDP remains a cornerstone leadership and management training program for Pacific tax and customs officials. These sessions aim to strengthen the capabilities of mid-to-senior-level managers to lead people, processes, and systems more effectively within their respective administrations.

Mr. Maivucevuce’s participation in both the refresher and main training programs reflects PITAA’s ongoing commitment to developing skilled leaders who can drive excellence and innovation in regional tax administration. His attendance will be supported through PITAA Training Funds, reinforcing PITAA’s strategic investment in professional development.

The Train-the-Trainer Refresher Course will ensure that key personnel are well-prepared to deliver and support the PMDP sessions, bringing a renewed perspective and refreshed facilitation skills to the table. These preparatory efforts are critical to the success of the 11th PMDP, which follows the last successful program delivery in March 2018.
As the Pacific region continues to adapt to dynamic economic and administrative challenges, programs like the PMDP remain essential to building long-term capability and leadership capacity.
